About the Children's Gymnastics School

Children's Gymnastics School – a franchise to Lidingö Gymnastics School
The Children's Gymnastics School in southern Stockholm was started in the summer of 2024 by Hedda Lidqvist, who has worked at Lidingö Gymnastics School since 2013. During her many years there, Hedda has been a central part of the operation - as gymnastics leader, administrator and course manager - and has brought the same values, structure and high quality into the new operation in southern Stockholm.

The Children's Gymnastics School is based on the same concept that has made Lidingö Gymnastics School so popular: small, leader-oriented groups in narrow age ranges, teaching based on the child's developmental level, and a clear focus on ensuring that every child is seen, encouraged and challenged.

We offer gymnastics training for children in Stockholm between the ages of 3-10, with manual-guided courses to ensure quality and progression in each group. Our educators have training in both motor development and gymnastics technique, and we actively work to strengthen the children's self-esteem, learning and joy of movement - without competition.

Lidingö Gymnastics School
Lidingö Gymnastics School was started in the fall of 2003 by Mia Eriksson Holst and Sara Bargholtz Melcherson. Both have many years of broad experience in the world of gymnastics, including as gymnastics coaches at both the general and elite levels for 17 years in the Vikingarna Gymnastics Team. But also as educators at the Swedish Gymnastics Association, judges and organizers of large gymnastics camps both in Sweden and abroad.

When they both had children of their own, the interest in the motor development of younger children and the idea of offering high-quality training without a competitive focus was born. Lidingö Gymnastics School offers small, leader-oriented groups in narrow age ranges. With well-trained educators with expertise in motor development and gymnastics technique, as well as the child's general learning, we not only want to train the child's motor skills and develop them gymnastically, but our ambition is also to increase the child's general learning and strengthen the child's self-esteem through reflection and personal development.

Our children's gymnastics courses are manual-controlled to ensure that we deliver the same high quality on all our courses and our teachers undergo at least twelve mandatory training days each year. We work according to a strong core of values where we see each child and their needs with passionate commitment and high competence, regardless of whether it is a small child practicing the basic gross motor forms or a twelve-year-old who loves handstands, and wants the best coaches, but does not wish to compete.

Lidingö Gymnastics School currently has just over 900 children in 70 different groups each week both at Lidingö and Gärdet in Stockholm and runs camp activities during the school holidays. Here you will find the Lidingö Gymnastics School website!
