common questions

For safety reasons, we want the children to wear tight clothes, so that no fabric gets in the way when they exercise.

On the Gymnastics speed, basic training, basic training Older, continuation and advanced courses, we require a full gymnastics suit/bodysuit. This is also for security reasons. The children do exercises that require a close fit with the leader, if they have clothes that do not fit, there is a risk that the leader cannot fit safely, and also does not see if the exercise is performed correctly. There should also be no skirts on the suit, a small frill is ok.

On all courses, we want the children to be barefoot. It is best for both body image, grip and balance. If a shoe is still desired, it must be thin and with a rubber sole. So no jogging shoes or dance shoes with leather soles.

Long hair should be properly styled, both for instructional and safety reasons.

Do the upside-down test! Are the clothes tight on the body when your child is upside down? In other words, does the tank top fit without falling into the armpits and the tights stay on the leg? We also don't want it to slip between the tank top and tights so we accidentally tear the baby on the stomach when we fit.

We ask you to avoid loose fabric such as shorts, tulle skirts (a short frill on the outfit is ok), t-shirts that do not fit tightly, baggy sweatpants, etc., as the children spin and are upside down and we fit the children very closely.

We do not offer a one-time tryout, primarily because we want to be able to offer stable and safe groups to the children who have taken a place in the group. Sometimes it takes a few times to get into the concept, get to know the other children and the leaders, and feel like you are developing.

If you as a parent would like to come and watch a lesson, that's fine. Email us and we'll find a group you can come and watch.

We make no exceptions when it comes to admitting younger children in groups than the age the course is intended for.

It is fine for siblings to be in the same group as the younger sibling. However, it is not certain that the older sibling will appreciate the course as it is designed for children of the younger sibling's age.

We do not offer "take-again lessons" for several reasons. The main reason is that we want stability in our groups and as little turnover as possible among the children so that peace and security are created, which is the best platform for learning and self-esteem.

For the vast majority of children, it is extremely important that there are no changes so that they can enjoy themselves as much as possible and thereby develop motor and social skills.

Registration for a course is binding and we always send an invitation by email as soon as the registration has been processed. Cancellations must be made no later than two weeks (14 days) before the start of the course and are made via email to sodrastockholm@barnensgymnasticskola.se.

If cancellation is made on time, no fee will be charged. Cancellations made up to one week (13-7 days) before the start of the course will be charged 600 SEK, cancellations made later than one week before the start of the course will be charged the full fee.

Before the autumn semester, the cancellation rules look different for Gymnastics speed, continuation and advanced. Read more about this in our terms and conditions.

We have no limit, it is fine to stand in the queue for ongoing courses or specific groups, as soon as there is a place there we will contact you via email.

If you are in our general queue, you will be contacted by email before the course starts where we have places left. It is then possible to decline a place without losing your place in the queue. If you want us to take your child out of the queue, just email us.

When the course begins to suffer towards its end, we send out a request for continuation to those who attend. If you answer yes within the specified response time, you have a guaranteed place for the next period.

We create our groups based on the registrations we receive. It is a huge puzzle to be put together, as many have several wishes, which we try to accommodate as much as possible. As soon as the schedule for the next course start is set, we will email an invitation and confirm the time.

We understand that children enjoy doing something fun with their friend, but if you want to learn gymnastics, it is not always appropriate to go with a friend.

Often the children lose concentration, the more friends that are in the same group, the more difficult it becomes for the children to concentrate on the exercises to be done in class.
